Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of McDonald County Criminal History. Viewing content, submitting a search, or visiting any page signifies agreement to every term stated below. If you do not agree, discontinue use of the website.

NO FCRA USE. McDonald County Criminal History is privately operated and has no affiliation with a local, Missouri, or federal government agency. Neither this website nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or another purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The resource identifies criminal-record channels in McDonald County, Missouri. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference website with no connection to a government office. We do not keep official criminal records, retrieve records on a visitor’s behalf, perform official background checks, or submit court filings.

The content directs readers to custodians of McDonald County records, including the McDonald County Sheriff, Missouri courts, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division and Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Missouri Sunshine Law Chapter 610 governs qualifying records held by public bodies; it does not convert this private resource into a government custodian. Outside tools linked here may assist with research under their own terms.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the website, you agree not to:

  • Violate federal, Missouri, or local law through use of the website
  • Use information to threaten, harass, or stalk another person
  • Rely on content for lending, insurance, housing, or employment decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or account
  • Direct bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools at the pages
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor’s access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information obtained here or through a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may also violate the law. Missouri Sex Offender Registry data requires particular care. RSMo §43.650 authorizes the public registry, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol warns that using its information to facilitate a crime is illegal. Registry access is for public-safety awareness, never vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency as the FCRA defines that term. No background check, credit report, or consumer report is produced here. The website and its advertising partners do not offer tools intended to evaluate job applicants, rental applications, insurance rates, or creditworthiness. You may not use information from these pages or a linked tool to:

  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Evaluate a renter or housing application
  • Assess creditworthiness or establish an insurance premium
  • Decide eligibility for a permit, license, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A legally permissible official Missouri check must be requested through the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division or another provider authorized for the particular purpose and compliant with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Website content is general information, not legal advice. Explanations of McDonald County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, Missouri Sunshine Law provision, or expungement rule applies to an individual matter. Seek advice from a lawyer licensed in Missouri.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are supplied "as is." We make no guarantee that:

  • Information will always be accurate, complete, or current
  • The website will remain available without interruption
  • Every page will be free from defects, errors, or security vulnerabilities
  • An outside search provider will return complete or correct results

Criminal records change as charges are filed, amended, dismissed, closed, or expunged. Gaps and delays can occur. Nothing published here is an official statement from the McDonald County Sheriff, a Missouri court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, or any other government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to the McDonald County Sheriff, Missouri court portals, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, legal resources, and outside search providers. Following a link leaves our platform for a service we do not control. We are not responsible for its content, data practices, fees, accuracy, or availability. Read the destination’s terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code are owned by McDonald County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, modified, distributed, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for damages arising from use of the website, including reliance on information obtained here or from any linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless against a claim, demand, or legal action caused by your use of the website or violation of these terms, including related costs and reasonable legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms. Any dispute arising from use of the website must be brought in a court located in Missouri.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revised version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or terminate access at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected language will be modified only to the extent required for enforcement.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be submitted through the Contact page.
